Weekend in PCB!

1st D-group date of the summer on Friday.  We played beach games like an egg toss, and relay races.  Afterwards, we went to the guys condo and watched Despicable Me and made giant cookies with ice cream.

Saturday, we got to have a relaxing day catching up on our assignments and chilling at the beach.

My best friends!  Juniors at OU!
What would I do without these girls?

This weekend also included some laundry, room check (resulting in cleaning out condo like CRAZY), preparing Bible study, beach time, church, evangelism training, and time spent out on the beach sharing the gospel.  This week I went with one of the girls in my d-group named Lauren.  We shared with only believers but it was such an encouragement!  Thanks for reading!

PRAISE!!

This morning I woke up to our condo phone ringing and one thought went through my head!  SARAH'S PURSE!  Yesterday, one of the girls in my d-group had left her purse downstairs in a patio chair and when she went back it was gone.  An sweet older couple found it on the 5th floor and brought it to the front desk!  Everything was in the purse, except for her phone, camera, and $24.  Sarah was just relieved to have all of her forms of identification because she is flying out tomorrow for a family reunion.  Such an answered prayer!!!  YAY!!!

My sweet Sarah!

Alert! Purse Stolen

My home for the summer!  Laketown Wharf!  They were struggling fillling there rooms and gave us a sweet deal for the summer.  Thank you Oil Spill!

Here in PCB we are wrapping up the week!  Wednesday night we had Inductive Bible Study and then watched the tragic loss of the THUNDER :(

Tonight, I had my one-on-one training with Sarah, one of my participants.  Each d-group leader meets with their participants once a week to disciple them.  Sarah and I had our one-to-one on the dock of our hotel at a patio table.  Sarah brought her purse and put it in the chair next to her.  After the content, we quickly headed upstairs to make ourselves some yummy quesadillas.  We had fun catching up and joking around and then as we were cleaning up when Sarah realized something... She had left her purse downstairs.  If you happen to be in PCB tomorrow keep your eyes alert.  :)

With the exception of the purse incident, today went wonderfully.  I worked with a different hostess today and we connected really well.  I have been blown away how every day at work I have had a spiritual conversation with more than one person I am working with.  I get to work with the same lady tomorrow from 10:30am-4:00pm so I am PUMPED.  Below is a picture of where I work :)

An interesting story to end you with :)  The day I was interviewing there also was a sweet russian girl interviewing as well.  She has been training everyday that I have been there and I gotten to talk to her a bit.  Today, I found out she has lived here for three years and is going back to school because her Russian degree doesn't apply in the U.S.  I told her that two of my best guy friends are going to Moscow for the summer and she then asked me, "Why didn't you go?"  I told her I was "here" instead.  She was so excited that my friends were visiting her country!  Anyway, I am excited to get to know her better as time goes on and have some spiritual conversations with her.

*Prayer requests!
-My coworkers to have soften hearts
-God will give me opportunities to share the gospel with many of my co-workers
-Sarah's PURSE TO BE FOUND

First Day of Work in PCB

This is my second year to spend the summer in Panama City Beach, FL.  Kaleo is where my walk with Christ changed for the better.  Shout out to my mom, who gave me the idea to blog about my summer.  I don't want to forget the life changing moments that happen as well as the ones that just make me smile.  I also want to keep all my supporters out there updated on what their money is going towards!
Last night was our first d-group Bible study and I practiced my house wife skills on my d-group.  This summer I am a d-group leader and I am co-leading with my sorority sister from OU Caroline.  The participants in our d-group are soon to be sophomore Thetas at OU, named Lauren and Sarah.

This year, I am working at The Back Porch in Pier Park as a Hostess.  I thought I would be working at Tropical Smoothie Cafe again, but it fell through.  Working in an unfamiliar environment is going to push me and I know I am serving a purpose their to share the gospel.  The purpose of having a job at Kaleo is to learn how to share our faith in the "real world".

I got to pick out the pretty pink shirt below :) and I was trained by a 16 year old named Carolina who moved from Colombia at the age of 9.  If only I was skilled in speaking Spanish... those 10 credit hours at OU were just not enough.  I followed Carolina around like a puppy dog at first and then she sent me on my way to seat my own tables.  It was fun to ask the customers where they were visiting from and brighten their day.  *Please be praying for opportunities to bring up Christ with Carolina and my other co-workers.  I wa

Caroline after our first day of WORK!!

After work, I went to Tropical Smoothie to visit my old manager, Travis, that came to Christ and his family.  He told me that he was so negative when Tyler (my co-worker from Kaleo last year) and I started working their last year.  He said that now he is so much more positive and feels so blessed.  My heart was smiling at that moment and knew giving up my summer again is so worth it.  Lives are impacted in PBC, FL and I want to be a part of it!

Tonight, we have our first STUMO meeting at a local church.  We invite our co-workers and friends we have made in PCB.  Last week, my roommates and I went to Tropical Smoothie for dinner and ran into my co-worker from last year, Michael.  Tyler and I shared the gospel with him and his younger brother but both did not have the conviction to accept Christ.  They did come to a few of our STUMO meetings as well as a night at the park where they played basketball with some of the guys from our project.  After catching up with Michael for a bit, he asked if we still had our church service thing. I WAS PUMPED THAT HE ASKED!!  A praise.... MICHAEL IS COMING TO OUR STUMO MEETING TONIGHT!  **Please be praying for his heart this summer and that he will come to know Christ this summer!!

My d-group is headed to our STUMO meeting now!  Thanks for reading and praying!
